Issue #1: We're really doing this....
Welcome to Neonatal Nuggets
Hello from the team at Tala Talks NICU! Before we continue, the file for the 50 Multiple Choice Questions is at the bottom of this email.
But in the meantime: we’re so glad you’re here! We’ll be sending out a Neonatal Nuggets Newsletter (that’s a bit of a mouthful, isn’t it?) every couple of weeks.
In it, you can expect the following types of content:
Clinically applicable tips for neonates (“The head circumference of premature infants increases ~ 0.5 cms a week. If head growth is > 1.5-2 cms a week, this is concerning for hydrocephalus”).
A concise PDF summary of our most recent video:
Super short reviews of interesting articles / news items (Early vs late repair of inguinal hernias? Fewer complications in infants if repair done at > 55 weeks vs. before discharge. And the article: Inguinal hernia repair) Timing of Inguinal Hernia Repair!
Stuff we’ve learnt at conferences or from the neonatal community (and why everyone should join #neotwitter!)

Recent multiple choice questions
Things we’ve ‘overheard’ in the unit/ or anything we find amusing. (We’ll kick off by listing all the RANDOM products we’ve been asked to consider advertising on our entirely educational channel: cordless chainsaws, parts of air-conditioning units and a sledge hammer for cars are all included!)
Write-ups of equipment/ purchases we’re using: How not to lose another pen!
Books/movies/shows related to our world e.g. Loved this book!
General musings from a neonatologist and a NICU nurse
We’re hoping it’s a way we can connect and build our Tala Talks NICU community further!
We look forward to hearing from you too!
Tala and Arianna
P.S If you buy any products we’ve linked to, we may earn a commission. So thank you if you end up supporting us in that way!
